Sierra Leone dollar in silver 1791. NGC graded proof. One of only 40 pieces struck in Proof. Estimate 10-15 or so still exist today including those forever stuck in museum collections. The world's first decimal silver dollar. The world's first coin issued for circulation struck with a steam press. Struck by the firm of Bolton & Watt owned by James Watt, inventor of the steam engine. The world's first coin to feature a theme of interracial harmony (clasped Caucasian and African Hands as a main design motif). Probably the coolest wildlife design on a hand-engraved coin since ancient times. Auction records up to 6,000 pounds sterling. Standard catalog of coins value (1987!) $5,250.
Take it only $5.250. More info available on request..
